Best Stores for Lingerie

Everyone knows the joke about buying lingerie for your partner, that it isn’t on long enough to justify the cost.  But nice lingerie is about more than just pleasing your partner; it is about feeling good about yourself.   When you are wearing nice under things that do not have holes and feel good against your skin, you feel more confident and you put off a satisfied vibe that can go a long way to how your day goes.

Where to Find Lingerie

There are lots of places that sell lingerie but as to what stores are the best, there are many factors that you want to consider.  You want to find a store that is local to you, has a variety of sizes on hand, stands behind their products, and has sales associates that know what they are talking about and will take the time to help you.  Look up the stores that are in your area and see what people are saying about them on social media.  Take the negative comments with a grain of salt as people tend to exaggerate when they are posting online.

If you still have no idea where to consider, consider asking friend and family if they have any recommendations.  You can trust them to be honest with you about their experiences.

For some, going to the lingerie store is an overwhelming experience.  There are so many different items in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials!  Where do you even start?    Take a deep breath, look around, and ask a sales associate for assistance if you have a rough idea of what you are looking for.

Chemise — This item is typically snug and skims your body going to about mid-thigh.  You could use it as a slip under a dress or skirt.

Babydoll — These tend to fit looser, have a short hemline and likely have some cups to give your breasts some support.

Bodysuit — Coverage from the shoulders to hips, typically with a closure at the crotch to use the washroom.

Teddies — These are a one piece item designed for in the bedroom.  They tend to have plunging necklines and use lace.

Corsets — Designed to cinch the waist and support the breasts, these are designed to be worn as under or outerwear, depending on your preference.

Garters and Garter Belts — These are typically used with stockings to keep them in place.  For many people, these are used for the bedroom only.

Bodystockings – These tend to cover the majority of the body but tend to be lacy, sheer, crotchless or another style.

No matter what style of lingerie you are looking for, you should be able to find it in whatever size you need, whether you are a size two or a plus size.  The important thing is that you get a good fit and that you feel comfortable in whatever you are wearing.   If you are uncomfortable, consider taking a good friend with you and make a girl’s day out of it with lunch, a shopping trip and then drinks after to celebrate your new purchases!
